Acton Boxborough (MA) forward Elizabeth Belanger '12 started her senior basketball season off on the right foot as she led the Lady Colonials to a 61-51 win over Dual County League Large rival Newton South.
Belanger scored 36 points and had 19 rebounds as A-B came from behind to earn a big opening road victory.
The University of New Hampshire commit is looking to lead A-B (1-0) back to the Garden, where they lost to eventual two-time repeat state champion Andover last season.
Belanger and A-B get back to game action on Friday night when they host Boston Latin at 7:30 p.m.
