Northfield Mount Hermon School post graduate attack Seth Bird '12 PG committed to Trinity College this weekend for the 2012-2013 school year.
"I looked at a lot of NESCAC schools, and many of them appealed to me academically and athletically, said Bird. "The NESCAC is packed with competition, and I wanted to be a part of one of the best leagues in DIII. After my first visit, Trinity was at the top of my list. Things quickly moved from there. Coach (Michael) Higgins has the program in a place that I am real excited about. I also love the fast pace style of play he promotes."
The former Concord-Carlisle graduate will take his game west this year and do a post-graduate year at NMH.
"Knowing I would do a PG year at the beginning of my junior year made the entire college process more relaxing," said Bird. "My coach at NMH, Jeff Neil, helped me a lot in finding the right school."
The two time All-DCL performer started the 2011 season off with a bang before suffering a collarbone injury that kept him out for a good portion of the year. Bird did return in the Eastern Mass D2 finals at Harvard and chipped in with an goal in the loss to eventual state champion Medfield.
Bird finished the 2011 season with 26 goals and 40 assists. Bird also led C-C in scoring in his junior campaign, scoring 26 goals to go along with 27 assists.
