Summer of the New England Big Man
The much anticipated immediate future of Connecticut center Andre Drummond ’12 (pictured left) was settled last week as the big man announced that he will take his game to Wilbraham and Monson next year to play with a loaded squad that includes the likes of Jaylen Brantley ’13, Kamali Bey ’13, Joey O’Connell ’13, and the new addition of CBC teammate Kris Dunn’12 of New London (CT).
Brewster Academy post graduate Mitch McGary ’12 made a lot of noise across the country this summer as he vaulted himself up to the top of the class of 2012. The Indiana big man will be back at Brewster for his PG year and according to ESPN recruiting analyst Dave Telep he has narrowed his list of schools to six (Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, Michigan, Duke and Kentucky).
In the Class of 2013 Everett (MA) big man Nerlens Noel ’13 (pictured below) of the Tilton School showed why he is one of the most dominating defenders in the country as he led the BABC to one of their most successful summers of all time. Noel and McGary will both be participating in the 2011 Boost Mobile Elite 24 in Venice, CA at the end of the month.

Guards make noise
Dunn (pictured below) and Brantley were two players who saw their stocks soar this summer with their play on and off the ball. Dunn was the catalyst for the CBC and showed his scoring prowess all summer long. Brantley displayed his sharp shooting touch all summer as well as provided leadership and court savvy all throughout.

Rene Castro ’13 (pictured below) also had a big summer for the BABC. The Milton (MA) native will transfer to Worcester Academy after two years at Beaver Country Day School. Castro teamed with Brantley to form one of the countries strongest backcourts on the summer circuit.

Battle in the NH Preps
It should be a fun year in the NEPSAC, especially in New Hampshire, as Brewster Academy, New Hampton School and Tilton School are all completely loaded and are all just a few exits away from each other in the beautiful Lakes Region of NH.
New Hampton picked up young Massachusetts studs Noah Vonleh ’14 and Jared Terell ’14 among others. Marlborogh (MA) native Zach Auguste ’12 (pictured top left) and Canadian point guard Olivier Hanlan ’12 (pictured bottom right) are also both returning from last year’s NEPSAC tournament runner up squad.

Brewster Academy reloaded once again as star wing man T.J. Warren ’12 leads their talented incoming group that also features local Andover (MA) post graduate guard Joe Bramanti ’12 among others. With McGary coming back to anchor the paint, along with athletic wing Deonte Burton ’14 from Milwaukee, Brewster is poised to get back to their 2010 National Championship prowess.
The Tilton School will bring back their young and united group of mostly BABC talent led by Noel, Iowa State bound Georges Niang ’12, who had a monster summer, Wayne Selden ’14 (monster summer), Domonique Bull ’12, and Goodluck Okonboh ’13. Tilton should be much improved after a year and many summers playing together.
