Holiday Hoops Happenings

Bishop Guertin (NH) looked solid with 6'4 Junior SF/SG Connor Green showing a very polished offensive game as BG handled LaSalle Academy (RI) in the opener. Green is a very creative offensive scorer with a quick release and a relentless motor.
In Game 2 Cambridge Ringe and Latin came out of the gate gunning led by 6'4 Junior F Deondre Starling and 5'9 Senior PG Darius Sealy and Cambridge jumped all over Sabis (Springfield, MA). The second half was a different story as Sabis' Guards, 6'3 Sophomore Kamail Bey (pictured left) and 5'11 Senior Andre King dominated the younger Cambridge squad and pulled out a close one. Bey showed a nice undersized post game and was a matchup problem all day on the perimeter and the post.
A couple of the afternoon games had Everett and Super Sophomore Nerlens Noel defeating Brookline in a low scoring close battle. Everett needs to find a way to get the ball to the young Noel if this team wants to make noise this year. St. Johns Prep and rising Junior Pat Connaughton held off a fiery and talented Wareham squad that will surely make another run in the post season this year.
