Football Signing Day 2012
Posted on February 2nd 2012
College football Signing Day 2012 has come and gone and many New England’s top high school football stars are now signed, sealed and committed to their future college destinations.
Massachusetts
NEPS 2011 player of the year Tim Joy of Chelmsford High School was one of 16 to sign as a future Boston College Eagle in the Class of 2016 on Wednesday. The former Chelmsford Lions star told New England Prep Stars back in December that it was always his dream school growing up.
"It was an easy decision with BC being my home town school," Joy told New England Prep Stars back in June. "It has always been my dream to be an Eagle."

Connecticut
Some players followed through with their early favorites as Winsor (CT) star wide receiver Aaron Berardino told us in October that he favored Central Connecticut State University and the senior followed through with those plans by announcing his commitment to the Blue Devils on Wednesday. Berardino was one of the top offensive weapons in New England tallying 1,259 receiving yards on 58 catches and 17 touchdowns.

New Hampshire
Pinkerton High School (NH) running back Emmitt Smith (pictured below) is headed to Bentley University to continue his football journey. Smith was one of the top players in New Hampshire this season as a First Team All-New Hampshire selection with over 1300 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns.

“I was striving for a school that had high academic standards along with quality football and in my eyes that was undoubtedly Bentley,” Smith told New England Prep Stars on Tuesday night. “The coaches and players were great when I went down for visits and I enjoyed every second I was down there. Once the stars aligned and I got an offer, it was a no brainer for me.”
Brown Scores Big in Massachusetts
Brown University landed a lot of fine local Massachusetts talent. While the Ivies do not publicize their committments many of their new commit to Brown’s class of 2016 are noteable Massachusetts stars such as……
Henry Bumpus and Andrew VanderWilden of Concord-Carlisle High School
Andrew Coke of Andover High School
Mike Walsh of Swampscott High School
Will Quigley of Marblehead High School (pictured below)
“I am excited about the rest of our recruiting class,” Quigley told New England Prep Stars after his commitment in December. “I think we have a great class coming in who will be able to add to Browns success under coach Estes.”
