Busy Week in New England Summer Lacrosse

Gouchoe and Ryan lead the Northeast to Championship Win at Under Armour All-American Underclassman Games
Baltimore, MD- Concord-Carlisle (MA) goalie and Navy commit Doug Gouchoe and Avon Old Farms (CT) goalie and Delaware commit Will Ryan were named Co-MVPs as they lead the New England team to a championship at the Under Armour All-American Lacrosse Underclassman Games. The Northeast defeated Long Island 10-7 on Sunday to take home the championship.
The New England squad received stellar offensive play in the final game with two goals each from Avon Old Farms attack Anthony Rocco '12, Darien (CT) midfielder Henry West '12 and Governor's Academy midfielder Tate Jozokos '13. Bitter and Solomon star at Under Armour Senior Game
Baltimore, MD- In the senior game Deerfield Academy attack and UNC bound All-American Jimmy Bitter '11 scored 2 goals on his way to an impressive showing in the final game that was televised on ESPNU. Our inaugural New England Prep Stars prep school player of the year (Bitter) will take his game to Chapel Hill next year to suit up for his brother Billy's former Tar Heel squad.
Salisbury School attack and Maryland bound David Solomon '11 also played well as the other New England (school) representative at the Senior game.
Laxachusetts takes Gait Cup
Gettysburg, PA- Laxachusetts continues to dominate on the summer circuit as their 2012 White team won the Gait Cup in Pennsylvania this past weekend defeating Team Alcatraz (CA) 8-5. Laxachusetts had two teams representing in the field as the 2012 Green team also had a great showing, losing to the Laxachusetts 2012 White team 8-6 on Saturday.
Hingham All-American attack Kevin Blair '12 and Medfield midfield/ fo Clay Richards '12 were named to the Gait Cup All-Star game. Dover-Sherborn All-American midfielder Billy Polk '12 (pictured below right) also played well.

Warrior 40 this weekend at Harvard
Allston, MA - New England will be well represented at this weekend’s ESPN RISE Warrior 40 at Harvard University. The Warrior 40 takes place from July 8th-9th.

Five New England Players to take part in tryouts this weekend for 2012 U19 Team USA roster
Baltimore, MD- Five players with New England ties are among the 122 invited for the US tryout. The five players will compete in Baltimore this weekend for a spot on the prestigious Team USA in the World games in 2012.

Midsummer Classic at UMass this weekend
Amherst, MA- As if this weekend was not busy enough the Mid-summer classic at UMass will take place and feature some of the best teams in the country. While many teams will be down a few players from the All-Star events the Mid-Summer Classic is always a great showing of the wide range of talent in New England and across the country. Some of the top teams will be there and the schedule is now posted here on their website.
New England Prep Stars will be in attendance, taking notes, building profiles and updating our twitter feed, on Saturday.
Yanulis and Buron commit to schools
Laxachusetts announced that BC High (MA) defender Ian Yanulis '13 committed to Duke University. They also announced that Duxbury (MA) midfielder Andrew Buron '12 (pictured below) committed to Stony Brook. Both players have had strong starts to their summer and are cominf off impressive high school seasons in Massachusetts public.
